In-pipe Gas Compressor Programme (IGC)
Partner: Saudi Aramco, owner of the world’s largest oil and gas reserves.
Project: Using the core technology of the downhole gas compressor, but more powerful and on a larger scale, the IGC is designed to maintain and improve the delivery of gas via above-ground pipelines. A detailed R&D programme, in partnership with Saudi Aramco, is designed to produce a viable in-pipe solutions that will be field tested at a Saudi Aramco site, resulting in improved control and flow of gas across its network.

- Gas filled brushless permanent magnet motors
- Driver and compressor on one piece shaft
- Gas bearing technology
- Low speed blading
- Seal-less systems
- Low maintenance design
