Our History

Corac was established in 1996 on the Science Park at Brunel University with the primary objective of researching and developing technologies in the field of gas compression with innovative use of gas itself in the bearings.

From the very start Corac has focused principally on R&D in the fields of natural gas compression and enhancing gas well production, helping oil and gas affiliates to prolong the productivity from otherwise economically unviable wells.

In July 2001 Corac began trading on the London Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The Company has developed two main applications for its core technology - a compact compressor suitable for use downhole in gas wells (The Downhole Gas Compressor or DGC) and a range of compressors targeting applications requiring a clean air supply. Top industry experts and organisations ranging from oil and gas to food processing, Offshore mining, packaging, beverages and many others and showing significant interest in the industrial applications of Corac’s patented solutions.

With respected industry partners like Saudi Aramco and OMV, and the support of major shareholders, Corac is leading the way in modern thinking and innovation in the fields of natural gas compression, pressure boosting, offshore gas compressor applications, long reach power, oil-free bearings and many other major industrial applications.
